Meet the Vets

 

 

Richard

 

 

Richard

Richard was born in Australia, gaining a veterinary degree at University of Melbourne. Intending to briefly visit England after graduating, he met his future wife (a farm manager) in a scene out of All Creatures Great and Small. He has worked in Farm practices in Devon, Yorkshire and Lancashire; at racing stables; in industry with food production; with zoological and wildlife collections; and with Companion animals before settling in Cheshire.

They have four children, three dogs, eight cats, three horses, two pygmy goats, a pig and a dozen chickens; and a guinea pig that regularly visit.

Barrie

Barrie has been practicing for over 40 years. He was a partner in his first practice in Scotland, working with cattle, horses, pigs and dogs and cats; gaining a Diploma in Bovine Reproduction. He took 'early retirement' to England and has been associated with this practice since 1999.

Barrie's favourite dog is the Flat coat Retriever.

Julie has been working with companion animals for at least 20 years. She has been with us since 2002.

Veterinary Nurses

 

Bev

 

Bev

Bev moved from retail to nursing in 1998. In 2004 she completed her Veterinary Nurse qualifications. As well as heading the nursing team; and a neonate fosterer, Bev ensures smooth running of pet insurance claims. She continues her retail skills in medicine and stock management.

Helen

Helen joined the Practice in 1989, having trained as Veterinary Nurse at a Practice in Shrewsbury. Besides nursing, Helen keeps control of outstanding accounts. She has had two career breaks for her two daughters; she now works part-time for the Practice and full-time at home.

 

Abby

 

Abby

Abby is a former Reaseheath Student where she studied an HND in Animal Studies. She qualified as a veterinary nurse from Rodbaston College in 2000. Abby's passion for veterinary nursing progressed when she studied for her Surgical Nursing qualification. She spent a short time at Liverpool University and the Queen Mother Vet Hospital in London.

Abby is responsible for training and teaching the student nurses in the practice. Abby is now settled in Nantwich and is married with two children, she also has two horses and a one-eyed Border Collie.

Janet

Janet started work at a vets, tried dentistry, but quickly came back to veterinary practice. She joined our Practice in 1993, leaving once to have her two boys.

 

Tanya

 

Tanya

Tanya joined us in 2004 from a local pharmacist. She has also worked as a hospital healthcare assistant. Tanya completed her Animal Nurse Assistant certificate in 2008. She is also on the RSPCA neonatal fostering list.

She is training as a VN.
